Hiking El Pozuelo
Guided and interpreted route by environmental guides in Sierra Blanca, decared Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO. Offering this activity in different languages, we mix low impact sport (hiking) with nature comprehension and interpretation.
4-5 hours of walk enjoying amazing views of Sierra Blanca mountains and its ravines! Wilderness just few minutes from Costa del Sol beaches.
We’ll start in Juanar area and then we’ll walk high up getting an enchanted forest, Pinsapo’s Forest! The unique andalusian fir tree that can be only seen in these mountains, you’ll feel like in north Europe but with sunny weather! We’ll have a break for having a snack an we’ll enjoy the surroundings, the flight of the Golden Eagle, the jumps of the spanish ibex, and much more!

We’ll start near Juanar area, in Ojén, walking up to the mountains of Sierra Blanca (declared Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO for its high natural values). At the begining we’ll cross a typical mediterranean forest (oak trees, aromatic herbs,…) but once we get the north face forest is changing into a magical one, Pinsapo Forest!
Pinsapo is the andalusian fir tree, a survivor from the last ice age that can be only seen in here! Feel like in north Europe but enjoying sunny weather!
We’ll walk along the Pinsapo Forest and have a break and a snack in the middle, listening the sound of fresh wind blowing the canopy, the sound of birds singing,….and amazing views of Sierra Blanca ravines!
Spring is the best season for this tour because is the wild orchid season! Amazing plants insect-shaped and very colourful, something not to be missed.
It is also the territory of the Golden Eagle and Wild Goat, quite easy to see them. You’ll feel like living a nature documentary!
