Caminito del Rey-El Chorro Tour
Guided hiking excursion into the Natural Area of Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, where we’ll enjoy an amazing hanging path known worldwide as Caminito del Rey (King´s pathwalk). A spectacular hiking route across this breathtaking gorge, an unique landscape known for its depth. In the past, it used to be considered the most dangerous boardwalk route in the world. Nowdays is a safe walk after the restoration in 2014.

We’ll start the tour about 10.00 a.m. driving from your residence to the hinterlands, where Caminito del Rey is.
On the way to Caminito, we’ll lear a bit about the history of Málaga province and the culture, because we’ll see the landscape changes that are usually man made or associated with human being.
In 1 hour we’ll arrive to Ardales, the town that holds El Chorro area, where Caminito is. El Chorro gorge is an impressive Jurassic aged limestone formation. El Caminito del Rey, that has been the most dangerous and risky pathwalk ever made and has been just recently restored to enjoy it in a very safe way, goes alongside the Chorro Gorge walls.
Estimated time for the full length of the route is between three and four hours walking, in which we will admire this masterpiece of engineering, which reaches 105 m above the Guadalhorce River. This pathwalk was designed and built in the early 20th century as a shortcut for workers. Nowdays, is a safe but amazing and breathtaking trail where we’ll be able to enjoy watching local fauna of the region, griffon vultures, wild goats, eagles…
Yet, we will have a 3-course Andalusian lunch in El Chorro, in the end of the pathwalk down in the bottom of the gorge.
After that return to the hotel about 18.00- 18.30, satisfied of living the best day of your holidays!
